Married on Lake Maggiore in Italy
How they met
"Shane and I met in Cartagena, Colombia. I am originally from Milan, Italy and he is from Melbourne, Australia. It was December 2018 when we met. We were both traveling and met at a rooftop bar in the old town. After that we spent 2 unforgettable days together before continuing our separate travels.
A month later Shane came to Italy for a 10 days visit.
After another 3 months, I moved to Melbourne. Fast forward 5 and half years later, we are married!"
Their venue and colors
"We got married in Italy, near my hometown. The precise location is Villa Muggia in Stresa, on Lake Maggiore.
I really wanted a bright summer theme and decided to stir away from the usual soft tones.
My palette was mainly few shades of orange - from peach to dark orange - and pink - from pastel to bright hot pinks!"
One moment to relive
"Definitely when I walked down the isle. A moment before that I was very calm, we were early and had to circle the church a few times to wait for all guests to be inside. I was literally thinking to myself: I am surprised at how calm I am!
Then I got out of the car, my bridesmaid entered the church and my song started. At this moment, holding my dad’s arm, I started shaking uncontrollably and I couldn’t control my tears - of joy!
I saw Shane smiling at me and finally arrived at the altar, where he asked if I was okay!
Then held his hand and everything calmed down."
Finding her dream gown...
"I had a very clear idea how what I was looking for in my dress. Fashion for me is fun, I knew finding the right dress was going to be the best part of my wedding planning.
I wanted only one dress - no second dress/reception dress - strapless and structured corset. Also fabric was a very important factor in my search as I needed something light for both traveling and the Italian summer weather!
I booked an appointment with Bluebell Bridal in Melbourne actually looking to try a different gown.
My sister/maid of honour Lisa recommended I tried the AG LP gown. I was unsure about the fit & flare shape as I always assumed to be wanting a princess/A line shape...
THAT moment
But as soon as I put it on, I felt a sense of hug from the dress - if it makes sense!
The silk was incredible, soft, light, the dress was wrapped
around my waist like it was made for my body.
It was so easy to move and walk around in it, the long train was the ‘wow’ effect I was looking for my walk down the aisle and the slit was just the cherry on top.
I booked the dress more than a year prior to the
wedding and never had a second thought.
I absolutely loved wearing it."
A quote on long distance love
"More something that my friend’s dad told me when I met Shane: el amor es una razón suficiente. Meaning love is a reason strong enough to do anything - move to Australia in my case!"
Congratulations to the happy couple! To see more of the 'LP' gown: LP gown
