A Wedding in The French Quarter

How they met

"Sean-Michael & I met on Tinder in 2016. I swiped right on the cute guy whose bio read 'If you leave dishes in the sink we probably won't get along.' He swiped right on the cute girl whose bio had a long list of 'Dont's' including white Oakley sunglasses and Axe body spray. Thankfully he wore none of those but I do leave dishes in the sink quite often. We hit it off when we realized we were both from New Jersey and the rest is history."

Their venue and colors

"In New Orleans at the Court Of Two Sisters Restaurant in the French quarter. The charming restaurant was built in 1832.

For colors we chose classic black and white with a touch of champagne."

One moment to relive

"My favorite moment from our wedding was after Sean and I finished our first dance, the song (a cover of Wonder wall) transitioned into a Spanish merengue song, at which point Sean proceeded to show off all the great dance moves he's had to learn over the years. It was quite a treat for everyone and everyone really seemed to enjoy it!"

Finding her dream gown...

"I was at a sample sale and none of the gowns that were part of the sale really had what I was looking for. I went in with a specific vision. I wanted a ball or a-line gown with a high slit. No lace or crazy details. Just classic simplicity with a small fun touch. I described this to the sales girl hoping they had something along those lines. She brought out a gown that was exactly what I envisioned.

It wasn't part of the sale but I couldn't resist because it was perfect. I do not regret my splurge. It has everything I wanted. Additionally, the squared off scoop neckline was so stunning and gave such a classic silhouette the modern touch I needed."

A quote from the day...

"We had private vows to each other but our wedding was officiated by my little sister. My family is Puerto Rican and Dominican and his is of Irish decent.

My little sister included an Irish saying in her officiant speech that really touched everyone, especially Sean's dad and it was the perfect symbolism for the joining of our two cultures.

'May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace

May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase

May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past

May your hands be forever clasped in friendship and your hearts joined forever in love

Your lives are very special, God has touched you in many ways

May his blessings rest upon you and fill all your coming days'"
