From Bumble to Bordeaux

How they met

"Who knew a right swipe on Bumble would lead to discovering we were meant to share stormy skies in Jacksonville? Our carefully planned beach stroll transformed into an unexpected adventure when thunder crashed overhead—but fate had something cozier in mind. There we sat in the front seat of his car, surrounded by his thoughtfully curated charcuterie picnic (which he'd originally planned for the beach), while rain created the perfect soundtrack against the windshield.

Between shy glances and playful negotiations over the last piece of aged gouda, we found ourselves lost in conversation that flowed as naturally as the rain outside. The way he'd remembered my offhand comment about loving mangos, and the fact he'd tracked it down a mango beer, told me everything I needed to know. Sometimes the most perfect moments come from derailed plans, a dash of Mother Nature's mischief, and a dating app that finally got it right."

Their colors

"We threw the traditional wedding color rulebook right out the château's elegant windows! Our vision? Classic French blue and white as the foundation, but sprinkled with more pops of color than a Parisian artist's palette. Picture this: our bridal party floating around in a sea of mix-and-match blue and white dresses (because who said bridesmaids need to be cookie-cutter twins?), while the groomsmen rocked coordinating bow ties looking like the most dapper sailors on land.

My brother and our officiant channeled their inner Southern gentlemen in blue seersucker jackets (très chic meets Charleston!), while my bridesmaids added their own colorful flourishes—think statement earrings that could brighten any room and shoes that definitely didn't shy away from the spotlight. The flowers? Classic white blooms having a party with bursts of sunny yellow, all arranged on tables draped in striped linens that would make any French marketplace proud.

And for the perfect finishing touch, we ditched the traditional guest book for a vibrant coffee table cocktail book—because why should our guests sign something boring when they could be part of an artistic masterpiece? It was like a traditional French wedding got a splash of confetti thrown at it, and honestly, we wouldn't have had it any other way!"

One moment to relive

"Our French-American love fest kicked off in the most deliciously chaotic way possible—think crepes flying from a food truck at our rehearsal dinner, followed by an impromptu pool party where formal wear became swimwear (because why not?). The château's elegant foyer transformed into our personal ABBA disco, with my wedding dress becoming the world's fanciest dancing outfit as we twirled under crystal chandeliers.

But the real showstopper? Picture this: my father-in-law and his friends suddenly breaking into "La Paquito," a French tradition I was gloriously unprepared for. Before I knew it, our entire wedding party—from my best friends father, my cousins, my sister in law, aunts and uncles —was forming a human wave of joy. There we were, crowd surfing in wedding attire, being passed from loved one to loved one like the world's most elegant game of human hot potato. Forget the Michelin-worthy dinner (though that was incredible too)—watching my American family embrace this wonderfully wild French tradition, quite literally, was the kind of magical chaos you couldn't script if you tried.

Talk about cultural fusion at its finest—where else would you find your co-worker floating above a sea of hands while French wedding guests chanted in unison? Now that's what I call a proper Franco-American alliance!"

The venue

"Picture this: a fairy-tale château tucked away in the French countryside, where our love story took center stage at Chateau de la Borderie in Benest, France. With my darling Arthur being French (oui oui!), we couldn't resist the chance to give our nearest and dearest a slice of his je ne sais quoi—complete with endless wine, cheese, and countryside charm that you simply can't find anywhere else.

Our little corner of France became a magical playground for the weekend, where our favorite people from across the globe came together to create memories sweeter than a fresh croissant. The château, standing proudly in what felt like our own private paradise, set the perfect scene for our international love fest. From the ancient stone walls that could tell a thousand tales

to gardens that would make Versailles jealous, every corner sparked joy and romance.

The weekend was such a hit that we're already plotting our return—same château, same crew, just with less wedding planning stress! After all, how often do you get to play lord and lady of a French château while watching your loved ones bond over baguettes and Bordeaux? It was the perfect blend of two families, two cultures, and two hearts becoming one magnificent adventure"

Finding her dream gown

"I waltzed into the bridal boutique with a Pinterest board full of sleek silk gowns and a "no-fuss" mentality, only to have my well-laid plans delightfully derailed. My fashion fairy godmothers (aka my friends and mother) gently nudged me to venture

beyond my comfort zone, and oh, what magic ensued! The moment I slipped into that MP dress, all my preconceived notions melted away like wedding cake in summer. While it wasn't the minimalist number I'd imagined,

this gown was a masterpiece of contradictions—classic yet unexpected, traditional with a dash of sass. I wanted a dress that could

tell a story, and this one spoke volumes. The piece de résistance?

The last minute decision to add cheeky sequined shorts I underneath, turning the elegant high slit

into a playful surprise that had everyone talking.

Sometimes the best love stories—even with a dress—come when you least expect them, and this one was no exception!"
