The story behind White Oak Bridal
"Opening up my own bridal shop, has been a dream for a very long time.
I worked in the luxury bridal market in New York City for quite a while.
I wanted to bring that very, very specially curated and luxury shopping experience back to the Hudson Valley!
My dad was like that sounds great, I’m in, let’s do it! So it’s just the two of us here at the shop and we have a lot of fun."
What makes your store unique, besides yourself of course?
"I think the intimacy and privacy of the whole experience is definitely important.
We only ever do one appointment at a time so it’s very relaxed. It’s a very private experience.
Size inclusivity is probably one of the most important things.
We wanted to open up a place that was a safe space for brides of all sizes, especially plus size brides, to come try dresses on."
What do you enjoy most about working with the Antonio Gual team?
"We really have a very meaningful and close relationship with all the designers that we work with.
We met Antonio and his team last year at bridal fashion week and there was an instant connection.
Everybody was just so warm and friendly! Then the dresses came out and it was like OK!"
What is your favorite Antonio
Gual gown and what excites
you about new collections?
"One in particular that I’m obsessed with lately
is called the Alfie gown.
It’s just the most romantic lace I think I’ve ever seen."
What is your favorite time of year in your city and why?
"We absolutely love being here in Tarrytown, New York. Our favorite time of year in Tarrytown is hands-down, the fall! Halloween Halloween is a really big deal around here. People basically start celebrating it in August! It’s really a lot of fun people go all out."
